About Me
I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) in 2009. Since that time I have worked for three NHS Trusts, helping to support the communication skills of young people 2-18 years of age in a variety of mainstream and specialist settings. I set up Emma B Speech Therapy in 2022, so that I could help more children and families as well
I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) in 2009. Since that time I have worked for three NHS Trusts, helping to support the communication skills of young people 2-18 years of age in a variety of mainstream and specialist settings. I set up Emma B Speech Therapy in 2022, so that I could help more children and families as well as support my local community.
Communication is a vital skill that many of us take for granted. Everyone deserves to communicate freely, effectively and confidently, which is why I’m passionate about delivering fun, meaningful and effective support that makes a difference. My ethos is: connection first, always, so I believe in providing child-led and strengths-based care. I am also a neurodiversity-informed therapist, passionate about advocating for my neurodivergent clients.
Since qualifying as a SLT, I have achieved a Postgraduate Certificate in Autism and have gained experience working with secondary-aged pupils, some with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. I am a certified Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) clinician, and have a keen interest in learning more about Gestalt Language Processing (GLP) and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) also known as 'Persistent Drive for Autonomy'.

- Training & Parent Coaching.
I primarily work with:
- Autistic young people, including gestalt language processors (GLPs);
- Young people who may need to try Alternative and Augmentative forms of Communication (AAC) including signing, symbols or an electronic device;
- Young people with language difficulties, including those with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and delayed language skills;
- Young people with speech sound difficulties.
I currently offer speech and language support local to St Neots, but am willing to travel up to 20 minutes from my home (please note there is an additional charge for travel over 5 miles).
I will support your child anywhere and everywhere - school, preschool, home, the park - whichever environment is felt to be the most appropriate and beneficial.
